A pre-dawn shooting in North Charleston’s Northwoods Estates neighborhood left one person hospitalized Wednesday after gunfire erupted near a residential intersection.
North Charleston Police responded to reports of shots fired at 3:35 a.m. near the intersection of Delhi Road and Bordeaux Court. Officers found evidence of gunfire and one victim with non-life threatening injuries, according to police reports.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police have not released the person’s identity or specific details about their condition.
Northwoods Estates, a residential community off Rivers Avenue, has experienced periodic violence in recent years. The neighborhood sits in North Charleston’s District 7, where city council members have pushed for increased police patrols and community policing initiatives.
